German Shepherd puppy is very itchy, dry skin ……?
My GSD is 4 ½ months of age. the vet told me last visit that has the dry skin … while scratching my puppy has little scabs on his back. I called the vet the other day and asked what I could do for him but only tried to sell their products … me not to say that wouldnt work, but certainly there are things out there that are cheap and work just as well, is not there? Does anyone have any idea what to do for him? I feed him Purina Beneful Puppy Chow and bathroom I sergants him or the Hartz brand bath with oatmeal, once or twice a month ….. Any ideas ?????
When my German Shepherd was a puppy, had this problem as well. Be careful when using the Hartz brand, shampoo because they can be very hard on the skin and can dry the skin very quickly. It can cause rashes on the skin of her b / c I think in my opinion, no formula is too safe for dogs. Perhaps the use baby shampoo to wash your dog … has a gentle formula that shampoos pet store brand. For dry skin, try washing with a brush puppy puppy minitues at least 5 per day. This will help loosen the skin its natural skin oils that help lubricate the skin. This helped my dog and usually see results within a week or two. Hope this helps.
