How I can start training my hunting dog?
I have a German pointer shorthaird hes almost 4 months old. I bought the starter pack quail Pro Shop low. Quail-scented wine, a long strap, and a stuffed canvas. What now? How I can put the perfume with the dummy of a figure? So What? Any n all the information will help, Thanks
We have Catahoula. When we train smell, we started with some fragrant treatment really like (always use the same treatment). let the scent of it, then place a few meters in front of them. to stay, and then tell them to go get it. move it a little more and a little more when they sit, stay, get treatment on a regular basis, you start to hide (ie behind of a chair, just beneath the foot of the bed) start them near her, and if they do, try to hide it further. then start hide two things at once, at nearby sites, then not so close to each other. eventually will find things in pots in the other room, or under the bath mat. when you get down, start putting the odor with the treat. and eventually, sweets are made smaller and the smell gets stronger, until it is using only lures scented. the rewared then come to eat a treat, to worship and find the scent / lure. with a puppy, keep training sessions short and construct (3 minutes to start until 5 minutes and so on). if bored, is detrimental to training.
