Puppy supplies?
My friend has a question Hey Abbie … this is Abbie im almost 15 and my birthday (on Monday), my parents are getting a black lab puppy (which last about two months old, getting her to a rescue center.) Anyway, my question is what kind of supplies needed to get from it? Also can anyone recomnd a good type of food for her? Thanks:)
Happy birthday a few days before, and congratulations to reach your puppy! ========== SUPPLIES: Here is the list of things you need before you bring a dog / puppy home – food containers Water – flat collar and leash (I recommend lupine, are guaranteed, but chewed: http://lupinepet.com/) – Nameplate if your pet is lost – Grooming supplies, which will vary depending on your race – Dog Shampoo – Dog toothbrush – dog toothpaste – nail clippers of feet – brush bristles or raincoat – comb (optional) – Toys – Kong – http://www.kongcompany.com/ – a toy rattle – a chew toy – a toy hug – a toy RBI – is – drawer – bed – pet stain cleaner accidents in the house during burglary – bitter apple spray to deter chewing (note: only 50% of dogs respond to the bitter apple spray. many of them really like the taste of it. If so, use pepper instead.) ========== FOOD in: There is no single food that is "better." For example, some dogs grow in foods without grain, while grain-free is too rich for other dogs. What I is to find high quality food that your dog * does best on. — In choosing a good dog food: Read the ingredients of the food they buy. Go with a dog high quality of food. A grain should not be in the first couple ingredients ingredient (corn and are mainly fillers, dogs do not digest well). Avoid foods that have a lot of "products" in the list. Here is an article about byproducts: Y http://www.dogfoodproject.com/index.php?page=ingrd an article about ingredients to avoid: http://www.dogfoodproject.com/index.php?page=badingredients — Some good foods are: * Merrick – http://www.merrickpetcare.com/ * Solid Gold – http://www.solidgoldhealth.com/ Canidae * – * http://www.canidae.com/ Timberwolf – http://timberwolforganics.com/ * Orijen – http://www.championpetfoods.com / Orijen / Orijen / * Wellness – http://www.omhpet.com/wellness/ * Chicken Soup brand – http://www.chickensoupforthepetloverssoul.com/ * Blue Buffalo – http://www.bluebuff.com / * Innova – Innova EVO http://www.naturapet.com/brands/innova.asp * – http://www.naturapet.com/brands/evo.asp Or visit this website for good foods: http:// www. dogfoodanalysis.com / Dog_food_reviews / (I recommend only feeding foods rated 4, 5 or 6 stars. Anything 3 stars or less, I would stay away from.) — Stay marks away from grocery stores. They are low-quality foods chalk full of fillers, preservatives, dyes, etc.. (Grocery store foods are those that as Beneful, Old Roy, Alpo, Pedigree, Purina, etc.) Beware "premium" food. "Premium" does not mean good nutrition, not is a high quality nutritionally. Has the same sort of ingredients as grocery store foods, just a little better the quality of the ingredients are not so good. (Premium foods are those like Iams, Eukanuba, Science Diet, etc..) Another thing to beware: Many of the veterans will recommend what they sell in their office. They benefit marks remain on the shelves, so the push. The truth is that the vocational training centers do not focus much on nutrition. Not that a vet is a bad vet because he recommends those foods, many of the vets just are told "this is good food", so to pass the message along without the knowledge of adequate nutrition. Also, some dog food brands (like Hills) support vet schools, so vets have heard of her since time to start college, which makes them think that is good too. — Higher quality food may seem more expensive at first, but leveled. More high quality of the food, the less fillers eaten (and therefore the less poop comes out the other end.) Your dog eats more to try to get the nutrition they need, and most food just passes right on through. Also, make your animal health, so you save money on vet bills in the long term. — "Table large "as Petco and PetSmart PetStore rarely have quality foods. In addition, grocery stores and Walmart are not good places to buy food. Your best bet for getting quality dog food are: – small, locally owned PetStore – dog boutiques – farm supply stores — When food switch, do so gradually. I do this for a period of time about two weeks: 25% food A, 75% of food B 50% food A, 50% of food B 75% A food, 25% of food B 100% food.
