Soldier Camouflage

Isn’t the Army Combat Uniform less effective in camouflage?
I don’t understand why the US Army has switched to the Universal Camo pattern. Doesn’t it make the soldier more visible? I mean, Canadian soldiers and the Marines use a similar pattern, but they use a dark green blend for woodland and a light arid color for desert.
For example, say there was a platoon of American soldiers on the right and Marines on left. If I were the enemy, I’d spot the guy wearing the woods-and-desert-blend soldier before the all-desert-colored Marine. So doesn’t the ACU introduce a severe risk to safety, a risk that Marines, Canadians, and other forces who wear more appropriate camo do not face?
Thanks everyone for answering. However, Multicam looks good, but more for woodland, not a desert, right? And should it be digital, to break up a soldiers appearance?
yes it is an ineffective uniform that is correct. i talked to my staff sergeant about it before. he told me our uniforms(USMC) have always been the most effective and the best. They are not concerned with looks only effectiveness. Army also wants effectiveness but then also wants it to look somewhat appealing and unique. they even have a bright American Flag on the right shoulder. that is easy to spot by a sniper. i heard they will change their camo’s soon. who knows when and who knows if they will be better.
