Greyhound Adoption?

Once I start my new job and get situated again, I was looking to adopt a retired racing greyhound. Is there anyone out there own one of these dogs? appear to be very compassionate, calm and intelligent. I'd have a new partner and also give a little of life a second chance. Does anyone know about where I would find resources to adopt one of these dogs? Do you need special medical attention because they are ex brokers? What are your cute and funny quirks that are unique to your race? I would love any information on this! Thank you very much:)

You never had a greyhound, but I know many who do. And I do Whippets own, that are associated with the greyhound. The retired racing greyhounds make wonderful animals household. And there is a great need for housing for them. You would save a life if they were adopted. There are tons of rescue groups across the country. Just Goggle Greyhound Rescue and the name of your town or nearest big city. Websites often have much information about the greyhound. They are great couch potatoes. Most people thought to be high nervous. Nope. They love sleeping. Its low energy levels that are easy to live. If you have a safe yard for them to run a little and take a good walk, that's all you need to be happy. Most rescue dogs in foster homes to be stolen, teaches them to live in a house and see if are safe cat and small dog safe. So for the time they get the dog who has learned about life outside the kennels at the track. I included a link to a national greyhound rescue that has been around for 20 years. Check and see if they have a local chapter near you. In addition, there are a lot of information about greyhounds and what to expect.
