Rhodesian Ridgeback

What are the points at the top of my Rhodesian Ridgeback?
I've had two of RR and have never experienced this, but my third has spots on its crest. The spots are lighter than the color of their skin. What are these spots? is the color that your skin will end up being?
Dogs can sometimes show "points" or areas of missing skin or lighter color, and may be demodex. This is a parasite that lives in the dog, but when the immune system is stressed or in danger, can be reproduced at a rate that causes hair loss, red spots, etc. I'll admit I've never seen in the very crest can Show this to your breeder or someone knowledgeable ringside? The information shared by another poster about sinus dermoid be associated with spina bifida is information incorrect, and dermoid sinus is a serious neural tube defect to be surgically removed. It can cause infection and death if untreated. but I doubt that would cause skin of different colors on the crest better. prove this condition to an expert breeder in your area. I can recommend some depending on where you live, if I want to write in private.
