what would be a thin silver tube with an antenna "pin" have been used for?
I have a silver case (tube) of 5 cm long. Contrasting as made by FW does. Pressing a small button and slide a thin blunt ended pin so it is 7 cm long. I can not for the life of me what could have been used. dressmaking'm thinking possibly undo points or pipe cleaner? Any ideas please?
Sounds like a toothpick. These were the latest fashion for fashion, silver and gold for the rich and less metal for those who had to have one, but not so good. It probably dates from the Victorian era, although remained popular through the thirties. Without him, I can not swear by it, but the description would imply that could be the case.
