puppy breeders

My puppy has ringworm breeders. How long is it contagious?
I bought a male boxer puppy from a breeder. About 3 weeks ago (a 4 weeks old), I reported that the dog has ringworm and has begun treatment for fungus. According to the breeder, puppy ringworm is healing very well, with hair regrowth in the bare patches. The breeder also mentioned that I have to additional doses of medicine (topical) after carrying the puppy home this weekend. I have another dog in my house, along with young children. Should I be concerned that ringworm is still contagious? Should require the breeder to keep the puppy until the ringworm medicine complete? I've seen a lot on this site on ringworm, but there is no answer to this question. come in Contact a vet this week to gather more data, but just curious on additional suggestions. Thanks in advance! Scott
I worked in a pet store and spent much time with their young. We have several different puppies had ringworm and had already begun treatment. I would have to bathe and apply the antifungal cream. I never had a ring worm any of these dogs, but also removed with hot water and bleach after any contact with them. If the hair has already begun to grow again, you should be fine since the drug has already begun to work, just be sure to complete treatment. Since you have young children, I would try to avoid him as much as possible (if you decide to take him home), I know how hard it can be with children and a new puppy. Remember also that if you ask the breeder to keep until they disappeared, probably will be charged for it, and is not cheap.
