puppy breeder

What should I ask the breeder before buying a dog?
We are looking to get a Bichon Frize and want to make sure that all questions before having agree to buy from a breeder. I've done my research on the different races and feel that the Bichon breed is best for my house.
Here are some Suggested questions can be used to determine if a breeder is truly responsible: 1. Is it an AKC registered breeder of good reputation and an active member of his race Club Parents, 2. Are there AKC Champions listed on the pedigree, showing that the breeder spends time and money to test the quality of their breeding stock through competition? 3. Are all animals kept in clean, comfortable, healthy, the circumstances of love? 4. Does the breeder conduct extensive interviews with you and all members of your family? 5. Have the sire and dam received all available health authorizations (for example, OFA Hip & Eye, Thyroid testing, they vary for each race) 6. Are you willing to honestly discuss possible genetic defects that may exist in your line? 7. Do you have a sales contract? 8. If the contract contains a clause stipulating that the puppy spayed or neutered before they reach a certain age? 9. If the contract contains a clause that if attention Sometime in the puppy's life, and can not therefore be returned to the breeder? (This ensures that no animal bred by this breeder will never end in a shelter). 10. Will the breeder maintain contact with you to the puppy's life to answer questions and help in general?
