pug breed
is the pug in the bully breed catagory?
I have a pug and I went onto a site it said the pug is a bully breed, which makes sence because the english bulldog and boston terrier are.

bully breeds were originally developed for catching vermin, baiting bulls (in the case with the bulldog breeds) and fighting against each other.
Boston terriers were developed as small “pit” dogs. bulldogs were bred for bullbaiting (the original “bulldog” looked more like an APBT or American Bulldog than the “english” type)
pugs were bred as companion dogs by the chinese- they aren’t meant to fight anything- hence, not bullies.

Molosser breeds are bred for protecting. Bullies are bred for game. two VERY different groups!
Rottweilers are herding/flock guarding dogs- Mastiffs are Molossers- APBT’s (“pits”) are Bullies- Game dogs!
