What steps would you take to obtain pure DNA for your pet to live? (No. of proteins, lipids or carbohydrates not)?
First get some cells. You will not have that many, if you are doing a mouth swab PCR to be done. Be sure not to contaminate the sample. Add K. protease solution This digest all proteins. DNA is now the largest molecule. Spin the sample through a filter, discard the filtrate, and resuspend the DNA from the top of the filter. Voila!
