new shelter dog is aggressive with us: (I need advice?
having a new dog shelter with us. he is half and half beagle ERC called hunting. which is a year old, he had about a week. have 3 people with mental retardation who live here and 4 normal adults who live here. Camo jumps in some of we know who is afraid of us and barks, growls and tries to bite. the adult who is not afraid to pet him and walk them em. sometimes tries to cut, etc. How actions can stop biting and barking yet? you tap twice on the nose and tell him to stop, but he comes back aggressively and try to retaliate or hit a high pot and say "NO!" and still does not phase! Sigh: (we are becoming fustruated with constant action and aggression bites. No more training closer to us than we are in a very small town. need advice we can train you work. Dad.
The answer seems to be in their questions, bark and growl at people who are afraid of it .. and then allow people who are not afraid to pet him and take him! He came from a shelter, who fears and doubts in the moment .. and playing him in the nose and making loud noises will only make sense that dogs are much worse, which will detect if they are afraid and act accordingly .. that's why people are not afraid he can handle. Trying to earn your trust .. give you a little about your hand .. show him the goodies in hand and call to come and take etc. Look how people who are not afraid of him .. walk will pass approach him .. pet etc. You can then say well that's what we have to be near it, make sure you are calm and in control. It will take some time to settle, but with a positive, calm that should be fine. Good luck with it
