Pearl Dog
Where can I find information about K9 training for American soldiers used in Japanese after Pearl Harbor?

I writing a paper on how to use Japanese-American soldiers to train dogs to find Japanese enemies right after Pearl Harbor. Everything was just ethical, but approved by the president. Soldiers were sent to Cat Island or something. I need to find information on it at the source and such! Anybody know?

Oddly enough, this is true. "War Dogs" was a program in which people should be volunteers from the family dog to serve the war. The dogs were trained to sniff out the Japanese-Americans, who were believed, it smelled different from other races. The training program was in Cat Island near Mississippi (no Cat Island in the Bahamas, as originally published). PBS History Detectives on this program recently and has links on its website to some primary source documents. http://www.pbs.org/opb/ http://www.pbs.org/opb/historydetectives/investigations/701_letters.html historydetectives/investigations/701_wardogletter.html
