We went to the Humane Society last night was heart breaking …..?

Last night we went to the Humane Society to fill the adoption papers to get a cat. There were lots of dogs (thank goodness), but there were tons of cats in cages too small. I walked to a cage for pets a cat and 3 or 4 more in cages close that one could put the legs out and try to grab for attention. It was as if they were hungry for attention. I know that housing is the best, but it was so sad seeing all these cats begging to be pet and see their faces When they finally left the cage. Older cats were particularly bleak, I know that the chances of finding homes are rare. How can you go to a place like that and choose the perfect cat? We want a girl because recently (6 months) lost a cat to cancer and it was so difficult .. We want our new cat around as long as possible. But lover theres so many sweet cats do not, it seems impossible choose.

I adopted two cats so far in my life and they chose me. The first was adopted in a country where there was shelter fourth cat, instead of the cats are in cages. My cat had been very shy, but when it took up residence in my arm, purring, and finally fell asleep. All other cats were interested me, but more out of curiosity. It seemed like home. My second cat was adopted from a shelter where every cat in a cage. It's harder to get to know the personality in that situation. But I spent time with some different cats to get an idea of your personality and how they responded to me. My cat was playing in the room and I had to leave for a moment. As soon as I left the room she jumped on a table and looked out the window meowing to me. When I came back. Jumped on my lap and stroked her leg against my cheek. And we went home. I really think that a cat chooses his house. Spend time with them to get an idea of how personality clicks with them. My first cat died of cancer when she was four. It is absolutely devastating and five years later, I still miss her. My cat is not nothing like the first, besides the two calicos be, but the two I chose his way. I hope that helps. You're doing a wonderful thing, opening your home to a pet. Good luck!
