Park Remote
Prestige Security System remote start install?
I recently bough a Prestige Security Systems Remote Start with keyless entry system for my ford escort zx2, but as i was reading the install instructions they say this product is for automatic transmissions only. I was wondering if there is something i can buy to make this work with my manual transmission or if i can just install this thing with my manual and just leave the car in neutral when i park and it will still work?
the box says aps57a im guessing that the model number?
any help from a car guy?
I would highly advise against remote starts in a manual transmission. In all honesty, yes…it will work.
However it is VERY/EXTREMELY Dangerous. Especially if you let someone else drive it…or take it in for maintenance etc. Had an installer do this in his shop…And forgot that the car was in gear….he set it off, and the car ended up running into one of the other installers and pinned him between the car and the wall…broke his pelvis and had other internal injuries. Anyway HIGHLY suggest you do not have this done….do a google search and you’ll see how many bad things have/can/will happen.
I’ve also heard that it may be illegal in certain places/states etc…So even after the warnings and suggestions to not do this….It may not matter at all, as it could just be illegal.
