How do I make sure a dog doesn’t smell horrible?
I am trying to convince my dad to let us(the family)get a yellow labrador, but he is obsessed with the fact that dogs smell and says no. We had a smelly dog before, but the vet said it was cause by an allergy and she was really old. Do all dogs really smell? I have seen deoderizer wipes and sprays for sale, do they work? Is there a better way to make sure a dog doesn’t smell? Do not suggest to make it an outdoor dog.
No need to keep your dog outdoors which i think is cruel and defeats the purpose of getting one. Kelco grooming supplies do a lot of good sprays although I’ve found the best (being a dog groomer) is baby powder spray. It lasts for ages and you can spray it every day. Just keep it away from the eyes and nose and spray a light mist over your dogs coat. Don’t bath your dog unless it REALLY smells as you will strip all the oil out of its skin and he could end up with bad skin. Dogs generally do smell, though, but if you take care of him ie regular brushing with a curry (rubber) brush and keep spraying him there should be no problem.

And yes I did say keeping dogs outdoors was cruel… ‘Kreestar’ – would YOU like being kept outdoors while the rest of the family sat inside? ALL my dogs (and there have been a lot,) have been kept indoors.
