What is the best ground cover for a shaded area in reality, it must be non-toxic to children and dogs?
We will live in Melbourne Vic and want to find a nice (with flowers if we can) covered with earth that loves the shade all day, somthing that often take over other plants. and look good in an "enchanted forest themed backyard safety around children and dogs for example, non-toxic, pointed, etc.
It aoppears its asking for a ground cover, and most land plants covering realize exactly that .. cover the ground and smother other plants for most others .. not grow in a total land area covered .. However, one of the most popular is the Mexican heather .. small bush like plants with nice flowers on them .. This is a photo .. It's cold and resistant to heat and cold … are made to disappear, but it will not kill only reappear wqhen heated ….
