Breeder Malta?
I am looking to buy a Maltese from a local breeder is anyone in North Carolina that can help me with this???
The best way to find a breeder is through a referral from the parents of the race Club: http://www.americanmaltese.org/ Please remember, AKC registration alone is not a guarantee of quality. Here are some suggested questions can be used to determine if a breeder is truly responsible: 1. Is it a keeper Reputable AKC registered and an active member of his race Parent Club, 2. Are there AKC Champions listed in the pedigree, showing that the breeder spends time and money to test the quality of their breeding stock through competition? 3. Are all animals kept in clean, comfortable, healthy, the circumstances of love? 4. Does the breeder conduct extensive interviews with you and all your family members? 5. Have the sire and dam received all available health authorizations (for example, OFA Hip & Eye, Thyroid testing, these vary for each breed) 6. Are you willing to honestly discuss possible genetic defects may exist in your line? 7. Do you have a sales contract? 8. If the contract contains a clause stipulating that the puppy spayed or neutered before they reach a certain age? 9. If the contract contains a clause that if you care at some point in the life of the puppy, it can not therefore be returned to the breeder? (This ensures that no animal bred by this breeder will never end in a shelter). 10. Will the breeder maintain contact with you to the puppy's life to answer questions and help in general?
