Gentle Leader or halter? What works best? Do not use Prong / Choke because not enough experience.?
Just wondering what works better to train a dog not to pull. I will not use Prong / Choke b / c I do not have enough experience to use one properly. Thank you. I know how to use it and Tiger is a bit smaller than a Border Collie. Body in the same building. @ Malice … LMAO … brainwashed wussy not a child … if they are so easy to use then I use one and see if works.Now, instead of yelling, why not explain how it is used? I feel I can train my own dog, using training tools. I do not need someone to train my dog to me. Sorry, Pop & Release ok, see I "m not familiar with his teeth did not know it …. was what it meant!
Mutt, those are decent training options, if trained in the use of them. A necklace of a misuse of the head is so bad like a string of points used improperly. It is admirable that you are seeking knowledge on something that is not familiar with prior to just jumping in and use it. Cookie Smart! Its hard to explain the full and proper use of these in text form. I suggest you call around and find a reputable trainer, with experience in using of these, and may give a tutorial to demonstrate and teach how to use them, so you can try each and that way, learn what works best for you. Also, if your guy is throwing, maybe hes just not working hard enough. I would imainge by using a package, that is to carry some weight in it, this would give a "job" and make work more, which will serve to satisfy the mental need to work on it, and the physical need for the job. It also would not more than a few lessons to their type, obedience is an excellent way to strengthen your bond with your dog, and teach that do not throw at a time. Good luck
