Designer breeds are fads that come and go. People actively trying to cross the races to see what the results may be. It is sometimes an attempt to create a breed with certain characteristics (less allergy problems, different types of glue, etc), but sometimes it's just backyard play outside control. Unfortunately, people will buy almost anything if your mind is set, or are confident enough. Not a lot of dogs in shelters who need of good homes. Why buy a mutt for $ 800 when you can adopt a companion mutt love a home for $ 100 or less? Some people just need a reality check.
