Adopting a dog 3 years old and burglary?
I was thinking of taking this mixture of chihuahua (Perhaps some Pekingese) castrated male. There is a little more like 10-20 pounds. The owner before that kept him out all day and then left when the place is not allowed more than pets. I wonder if you think it will be difficult to potty train this dog now? The dog is in a foster home, but do not know if training or just keep him in a pen.
Hello. First, congratulations to you to consider helping a dog in need. Secondly, I am a protector of animals and the foster carer who has tamed 13 dogs in the past two years. It is not difficult enough, but it will take a week or two to iron everything whatever (not depends on the dog and its consistency with the training – some are faster or slower than others). Minor dogs will need more trips outside common to have the opportunity to get out of the larger dogs (smaller bladders and all). Definitely consult with the physician care as he / she has been working on toilet training because (he / she does not want the dog goes to the bathroom at home more then you do on your own). Ask them what they have been doing to help the process along. At least in my experience, I take the dog out first thing in the morning (it will have to go below). As soon as you start going to the bathroom, say "Potty outside" and the profits after treatment has ended (to put an association positive action and a sentence to go along with it to understand what they are being rewarded for). break after a morning walk to the bathroom, there are 4 or 5 more opportunities to do so (which will be capable of reducing the opportunities once the dog gets the hang of it). Also, I would suggest that limited (and not deprive a) food and water after their last tour so do not put the failure so to speak by a full bladder or bowel without the opportunity to relieve themselves same.
