Granite Pet
Where can I find granite?
I am doing a school project where I get a pet rock, and I have identified as granite. Now I have to write a creative background in rock. (For example, "there once was a rock named Charlie. Charlie used to be underground magma, but for some reason she began to cool … blah blah blah, but better) does anyone have any idea? PS-have to be realistic, so it must be made of granite find somewhere and I have to explain how it cooled, so PLEASE help!

Granite is the main rock of the continental crust, while that basalt is the main rock of the oceanic crust. Therefore, if you dig deep enough you could probably find anywhere on earth solid granite. You can say something like this: Charlie is a granite rock that formed when a convergent boundary caused a volcano in the earth's crust. As magma that came out of the volcano becomes hardened in cooling granite.
