Potty training my golden retriever.?
My dog is almost 8 weeks old, we have it when I was 5 ½ weeks old, and his mother was very sick (there was some kind of infection). I take her outside to go to the bathroom every hour during a day and 2 ½ hours each night. I'm so tired At what age can stop taking so often? I'm training her box, she likes to box. Is not it cruel to hold water? Thirsty all the time! Only Garrettsmom wanted to say that if I was not responsible, I take my dog every 2 hours during the night. Of course I'm tired, do not you get tired? I have no dream and I have to work. I love my dog and I know she is busy, I just wanted to know how long it usually takes to potty train her. She has not had an accident so far!
I think he's doing a wonderful job with it. She is very young puppies do not have control over their bodily functions until they are about 5 / 6 months old. If you take her out late at night before going to bed and wait for her to go to the bathroom then solve it in the box with maybe a big soft toy for her to enjoy the comfort that you may find that you will sleep through the night. You can set your alarm for 6 am and then take straight off again. This way you can be able to sleep a good night yourself and also get the puppy into a good routine. Instead of taking out every hour during the day, try this routine: – On waking, after meals, after playing and always wait until she performs, giving plenty of praise every time and then give a little treat being a "good girl".
