What do you think about the prohibition of race?
What do you think about banning the breed, like pit bulls, rottweilers, Doberman, German Shepherd, ect ..? Personally, I think it is BS, one of my bestfriends has a pitbull, and 2 pit bull puppies and I swear they are some of the dogs sweetest in the world! I think these races are getting a bad image, because when some of the stupid (Vick!) Have trained and bred these dogs to do. These DOGAS are around children, including my own and 2 / O, and never once nipped at them or anything. My Newfie own worse because he likes to "mount" grabbing the back of the shirt of my sons and my son dragging everything (it stoped as soon as it started!).
I think breed specific legislation is absolute crap. The government is going for the quick and easy solution (prohibition of any race who bit!) Instead of taking the time to figure out the problem real, and stop that. They have to realize that it is not the breed of dog that causes aggression, but the dog owner. Any dog can be trained to be aggressive, any may be poorly trained dog, any dog can bite. The government must enforce laws involving the breeding and responsible dog ownership, not laws that involve restriction of races together. Breeding should only be allowed for registered breeders, not just any random thug who throws his two pit bulls (although dogs are brothers!) together, and the pump has puppies that can be used to fight or you can sell to any buyer unexpecting not realize how bad the situation is. I also think that people need a license just to have a dog in the first place, which would limit people from abuse and neglect of dogs receiving. The government is not given realized that if the ban on these breeds, that either the dog-fighters/abusers only find a new breed of fight, or continue using the same races anyway. Dog fighting is already against the law and continue to break the law. Why see the law differently? The only people that BSL will affect owners is responsible, who do not want to violate the law and hiding from the government. These people will have to give up their beloved family pet, just because the government thinks it can be a potential danger … but people who are the real problem remains the right of ownership of any race they want, because the law is obviously not important to them.
