Created after of the early posts: Perhaps some people did not read the question completely, I'm not asking for suggestions on building a fence, or opinions on the use of electronic training devices, I'm wondering if you have a dog that has had this particular problem and has found a solution that you would willing to share. Thank you!
I know they want a solution which implies that maintain their wireless fence … I'd like to share a story with which I personally experienced. When I was a teenager, my parents bought a basset hound puppies. It was the sweetest thing. We were gone during the day, and he would bark for all day. We had a neighbor who complained and called the police. When I was old enough to wear a shock collar, my parents thought I had no choice, was that or take him to a shelter. The necklace was designed to shock when he barked. We were told that it is not serious. He also received throat sores and scars. It could think that common sense told us, duh-that's obviously hurts. He ended up becoming very aggressive with us, and he's forced to put to sleep. I have since become a dog trainer. Now I know the mistakes that were made with this dog. Shock collars can damage your dog physology leading to more serious problems such as aggression. I can not stop thinking about this poor sweet little puppy who became a monster. This was probably separation anxiety and solved with time and patience, became a disaster. Not for me, the sensitivity of your dog's neck is similar to the sensitivity of the skin at the bottom of your wrist. Some businesses close Wireless will tell you it does not really harm the dog, and demonstrate that on your finger. This is not quite accurate. Demonstrate on the wrist, would you put him in the neck? By Please do not do this to your dog …… build a wall ….. I beg you!
