analogue terrestrial digital green?
I always assumed that the digital terrestrial TV transmitters that require less transmission power the analog kind to the environment. until my sister complained that winding a DAB / analogue radio is 30 minutes a burden when listening to FM analog but 5 or 6 minutes listening to dab. evident when listening to dab, additional circuitry is used to process the digital signal using current extra, but I was surprised to find that uses 5 times more. Now the question is, for example a main TV transmitter Sudbury Hill and currently uses about 250 kW is replaced by a digital transmitter with about 25KW. All spectators, for example about 1 million Freeview boxes need each with around 30W. I think that as the total power required for digital television will increase by almost 30 MW in only part of East Anglia. so far the digital switchover is complete nation to use an extra 500 MW. are my numbers wrong? no wonder we need more nuclear power.
I like the idea, I think I am fundamentally against the digitization of everything (the reason why I object to is watching the story – the government leased to the airwaves for 3G phones raised billions of pounds, this money was used as a bribe – tax cuts and new hospitals – so that politicians would be more likely to be elected and therefore keep their jobs. So I oppose this because the digitization of the waves is to ensure that a corrupt bunch can keep their jobs.) With digital radio, many people do not have free access to information. You can make a radio analoguie, or use a very ancient origins and receive information for free. With the radio these digital systems have to be replaced – some peolpe can not afford to get new ones and as such, be denied a source of information that has been free for so long. So the effects of this green? – Well, the landfills are filled with age groups, sparking lead and mercury may not. – Landfills are filled and we must find new landfills – There is a huge amount of energy and resources needed to make new sets (petroleum and energy) – It is the energy required for new programs – look at the required lighting, and space needed for the studies (space that could be taken with the home you're eating our green spaces) To be fair, however, 500MW isn't a huge amount of energy, but energy adda ll others – set top boxes, etc. .. and you can be twice to 1GW Oh, Most drivers listen to the radio in the car …. DAB how many of those are? Not so many, so there are a few million radios to be replaced.
