Can I treat my dogs fever with aspirin?

My lab receives the brown stuff in her ears, which cleans all day and now believes he has a infection. We have medicine to treat the ears, but now she is hot. And woke up panting in the middle of the night. Can I give you an aspirin?

The first thing is just because an animal does not feel hot necessarily mean that they have a temperature. The only way to know for sure is if the temperature had actually been in the dog. Also, if the dog had a fever he had better try to determine why you have a fever. The normal temperature range of 99-102.5 usually a dog. But Dogs who are anxious or excitable or dogs that are in a very warm environment can be as high as 103.5 without much concern. Another common cause of increased temperature would be some type of infection should be treated with antibiotics prescribed by a veterinarian. Aspirin is not commonly used to treat dogs for fevers, especially not before determining what is causing the fever. Aspirin is an anti-inflammatory drug that veterinarians usually reserved for dogs with painful conditions such as arthritis or post surgical. With that in mind should not be given aspirin animal without the express permission of a vet on the dosage and if the animal really needs medicine. With his dogs panting should consult your veterinarian about which may indicate before attempting to treat it.
