What is the best breed of dog to get that travel well, being a devoted lap dog and have a great temperament?
Any dog raised either by the owner. 
I found the most devoted, dog lovers are those who are saved from a shelter or rescue, and I'm not saying that. They have a way of knowing they have actually done something for them and will always be grateful to you.
