What is the process of rescuing dogs in shelters / pounds?
I graduate in a few weeks and I want to rescue a dog from a shelter / pound to take with me when I move to my new place a few hours …. would be a shelter / pound let me out the same day with a dog? How does this process work? What is the cost, etc? Thanks for your help!
I have to wait until they are settled in their new home and know your situation and the routine will be, before taking another's life. Call the shelter or human society in the area to settle. While I have made the transport of rescue many times, I shudder to think that actually trying to move furniture and belongings, along with a dog that I know, he does not trust me or know me or even know is the new name. What will you do if the animal would be prone to carsickness? Slip your neck into a rest / toilet stop? Depending on how far it goes, or if you stop for a taillight broken, you may be required to have a health certificate, that sort of thing. Trust me, there will be pets that need homes wherever they land.
