Puppy Training …. when a dog can be off leash?
We have a puppy who is almost 4 months old …. my vet has advised that the puppies should always be on a leash outside and that training can begin at 6 months. My husband is from another view and considers that the dog must be off the leash before? Our puppy does not fully conform to the commands of everything and got away from me a couple of times. My wife thinks he should be trained outside the belt ….. there are experts advise for me (or my husband)? Without belt so early … good idea? bad idea? Vet Fishercats also warned me, vultures and hawks all around our house ….. Our vet said one strap can save a small dog attacks by these animals ….?
You vet knows best! you have to train the puppy at home .. ensuring that definitely will come when you call .. try in the garden … then in a garden of friends .. Make sure the puppy is definitely again. train the puppy to close the hand, a belt is good for training outside … if in doubt .. Always puppy school!
