How can I get my dog to stop peeing on the carpet?
My dog is about 3 years old and every night urine the guest room on the carpet. I've tried everything. Sometimes shit there too. Every morning I wake to find the rug or pee or poop and pee in the carpet. I tried spraying some things I bought from the pet store that claims his dog will not urinate in the place that I cleaned in spray carpet steam to remove the smell of age. That did not work. I tried to keep the bedroom door closed at night so as not to go there but instead he goes to urinate at the corner of my room. so now I have two areas of your home where you are going to pee. I tried not to give him water before bedtime and make sure I walk him outside to pee before we go to bed. Nothing is working. I am desperate to get him to stop. Please help!
Get a kennel, but not one that is too big for him. Make them sleep at night. In the morning, take it out and stay there until they go to the bathroom. Then praise him. If you are leaving the house, keeping it in the cage until they recover and then take him outside as soon as you leave the cage. Probably cry from being in the cage, but it's better to pee and poop on the floor. Goos luck!
