What kind of dog for me?

Hi I asked this little, while one does, but some people misunderstood me so I'll say it again. I have 12 years. I have two very active parents who want a dog that can run alongside them. I live in an apartment. I have a sister of one month old. Must be a great dog, do not want a yappy little about and I know that not all small yappy dogs but I do not want a chiuawawa. I have two cats. We have an oval just below us the dog would be able to run aroung there. I really want to adopt a shelter dpg. I prefer puppies than adult dogs are lovely too, for what a dog, but acts like a puppy! I really hope you understand what I mean and not be nasty! Thanks to /

That's great you want to adopt from a shelter and being open mind about whether to have a dog or puppy. Nmind i keep most dogs in shelters are crossed or mixed breeds however, may be able to find a purebred one. Mixed breeds are great but as you can get the best of both or all the races that the dog is mixed with cross breeds and are relatively free of genetic problems that many pure breeds have. I suggest going to your local shelter, explaining what you are looking for the person and dog will show you what / S they have for adoption that best suits you and your family. If you like a specific breed, I would suggest a lab or golden retriever, like many other people, he said. Another dog that you like is the Cocker Spaniel. Ok so they are not big dogs but not small yappy type either. We own a Miller and he is called a great companion! He does howl from time to time but certainly not a bark of a dog barking. Do not get me wrong, however, he is not really the kind of obsessive barking, only barks to protect your property and to let us know when someone is in the front door, etc. We have a son two years old, and the miller is great with him! We Miller before our son was born that my son has grown up with him and they are the best companions. Have a great time playing together and know that Miller is smooth and not jump on him. He is an active dog but I would say a Cocker Spaniel would still be suitable for an apartment, if you plan to give you exercise every day, which is in any way, so it's great! I would not recommend getting a working breed of dog as a cattle dog, Border Collie or Kelpie. although they are very active and great for making run, they are better suited to people who have a larger backyard and high fences. Believe it or not very large breeds, including the mastiff, may be ideal for apartments, although they are great, can be very lazy and do not require a large backyard to run around in. While still need exercise, these dogs are not suitable as partners to run ". This is because they are strong, and a lot of strenuous activities such as running puts stress on joints which eventually can lead to problems such as arthritis. good luck with your new family member and I hope you find your perfect puppy!
