I want to join the navy, but have a dog?
What will happen? "I can have a dog and still join?
The dog can not come with you to basic training or school A, which would have to find someone to take care of him during that time (three months at least, all depends on what job you are entering.) So, if you want the dog after that, you'd only authorize a housing allowance to live in town in certain circumstances (Married, no room in the barracks), which could be an obstacle. And if you are on sea duty or part of a squardron, you must be ready to go at any time during long periods of time and the dog can not come with you. Honestly, if you want to keep the dog and join the Navy would need to find a friend or family member of the family who can care for the dog for you. If you are going to live in barracks or ship, dogs are not allowed.
