I found a tick on my dog?

My boyfriend found a tick on my dogs head. Including the shutdown of its head. I'll call the vet at first morning. But What are the symptoms of Lyme disease and what percentage of ticks that are carriers of the disease? Any information all on the subject will be useful. Thanks in advance!

You can call your vet in the morning … but it is unlikely that the tick found was a tick that carries Lymes disease. These ticks are tiny! About the size of a pinhead. Your vet will probably say the same. Symptoms Lymes disease is: limping (usually one foreleg), lymph node swelling in the affected limb, and a temperature of 103 degrees (101 to 102.5 degrees is normal). Thoes are usually the first signs of an owner to see. Furthermore, if the disease is treated promptly Lymes your pet has a good chance of recovering without permanent damage to the joints.
