Can anyone give me some information about the Belgian Tervuren dog breed?

Belgian Well since I've owned for 30 years here are some things to look for. First, both the long-coated Belgian (Shepherd and the Tervuren) are prone to attacks. Seizures in the other two are the Belgian Malinois that is soft and coated with the Laekenois is the coated wire are less frequent, but not impossible. In most parts of the world that are considered 1 race with 4 varieties, but the only country that allows free mixing is Canada. Back in the 50's in demand for the BSCA (the original parent club in the USA) the AKC split them into 4 races depending on type of coat and color. Crossing breeds is forbidden, but occasionally get offspring with coat type or incorrect color berths. all Belgians are very active will require a large amount of exercise. They are very devoted to their owners. In general very strongly shed twice a year in spring and autumn, but it is not uncommon for women to shed intact just after a heat cycle as well. With the exception of seizures are generally healthy, but still wants to ensure that parents of the young that you are considering is certified free of dysplasia of the hip, elbow dysplasia, thyroid disease and problems the eye (CERF). You can verify this from the Orthopedic Foundation for Animals website at http://www.offa.org. Then click on "Search OFA" and select the race, put on the first letters of the name of dogs, select the time period you want to view and click "Search". No reputable Races reproduce either male or female before 2 years of age and most do not reproduce until they are 3-4 in an attempt to kill the dogs with a seizure disorder. Also is important to ensure that puppies are well socialized and save the socializing once your puppy or your puppy may develop fear issues. Also is important to take your puppy to puppy classes as it will contribute to the socialization and running down the road of being a good canine citizen.
