Is $ 800 too much for a purebred rescue / adoption?
The agency is a legitimate nonprofit that trains service dogs for assistance / And sometimes put the non-outage work for adoption. The dog in question is a GSD AKC registered with champion parents and is 18 months old. $ 800 seems a lot to pay for a neutered dog can not be shown (AKC will not allow altered dogs compete in conformation trials) or bred, and has no special training. It is a beautiful dog, nice and I'm sure the extra money they receive will help finance other worthwhile projects at the center, but only $ 800 seems high and I was wondering if anyone else had a similar experience?
Yes, no question of bloodlines that seems a little on the high side. The only way it could be considered otherwise, if the dog had special training, as the service or assistance dogs to rescue. You may be able to negotiate as it is likely that the price of its normal service dogs. Campion lines or not, that should not be trying to make money on a dog that is responsible for finding a home for. Most relief agencies have very rigorous application process and that the screen alone for most inadequate housing – the price is not a good excuse particularly with castration.
