Deterrent Trainer

Question for the postie … What do you think are more dangerous work?
I recently started a permanent job with Royal Mail as postwoman, is hard work because I am small and weighs less than 8o. Apart from the heavy traffic, for me, I think the real problem dogs, I hate the way which seem to be behind the door trying to stop or in the mail. These dogs look very aggressive and I worry about what to do when faced with a case that is too late to flee. My coach told me to be quiet, but also said he was attacked and another girl was bitten by my round, so I'm quite worried. They also said could not give dog biscuits and some postie do this. I've thought about pepper spray, but that would only use if I was sure that attack. I have one of those Ultrasonic deterrent things, but never seem to work as I have worn out when walking and has been threatened by dogs jumping toward me. Still wonder what has been the situation more problematic for you? thank you very much
The first and most common risk is dogs – Never insert fingers for a mailbox with mail. Enter the e-mail at the other end. If the frame is stiff, put a crease in the mail to open. You never know what is behind a box. Never go a courtyard with a dog in it, if no owner of it. If the door is open and you know there's a dog in the house, do not go in. Bang on the door, or yelling, and expect to come to you. Explain politely that you do not enter if you risk a dog. Even when a dog looks pretty nice, do not think, at least not until you've got very familiar with it. I remember in my first few weeks, leading to a garden with a dog in it. The owner yelled upstairs to come in, the dog does not bite. He rushed me, and I'm still with the scars. He had never bitten the mailman earlier because the dog knew well. The owner was surprised, but all the dogs have in them, if you do not. If you run into a problem with a dog, NEVER run. I was going to write a long bit about what to do, but this site sums it up well here: http://www.wikihow.com/Handle-a-Dog-Attack Also, if you ever bitten, seek urgent medical assistance. If you choose not deliver because of a dog, cover and write the date and time you tried to deliver and a phrase like "dog loose in the yard." Take it to the office to deliver the next day. The same applies to any otherwise you can not keep. The second danger is the people: Royal Mail as a whole did not steal very often these days – what used to happen more often when we with the money (though never very common). That does not mean it does not happen though. Recently, someone pushed me and tried to take the sack (why, I never know), but I kept a good grip on it and gave up and fled quickly. Children may have problems too. I've had things thrown at me (Chips, stones, fired rubber bands, etc.). When are they just doing stupid things that are annoying and not harmful, tell them where to get off, and threaten them with problems (mention of the police, parents, etc, if you think you can help her – Remember that you can get an idea of where they live and can be made that fact known to them). Do not show fear, or get the solution. Stay away if you feel this is the best option. Once someone started shooting to me with a BB gun from a window, I panicked, thought it was a real gun, and went into a phone booth and dialed 999. It turns out that I was a kid walking around just aim to scare me about my feet. Tables Turned, when the Armed Forces Response Unit was presented and which he was face down on the floor. I will mention that at that time I was delivering to the hardest part of a big city, so I got more than my fair share of things like that. 99% of the time, no one will get you into trouble. But it's always more to be on guard, I guess. Never leave anything open or grabbable easily. Third danger is time. When ice or slippery otherwise take good care. Try not to take any risks and evaluate each individual bit of road and pavement. I did not work for most of January a few years back because he slipped on some ice with a sack full. I fell badly on one leg, and the sack pulled me back. I was in bed for some time. Now I'm not trying to scare you at all. You are not going to get eaten by dogs, stolen by people or breaking the neck from falling. Just make sure you are always aware of your surroundings. Dogs are a major problem, always be on guard. Also be on guard when it comes to your mail. Never leave your bag anywhere keep on hand. Enough of the dangers – is a good job. I used to be better, but still good. 90% of the time, you can have a nice day at work. Office always fun and pranks people on the street might be good too. What other work on the nature reinforcements that whatever happens, I have to give a few bits advice you may or may not have heard before, but it can help. If you do not already carry a mobile phone in the round. Having your delivery number Office saved the speed dial, along with his coach or his supervisor. If ever you are unsure of anything, do not have a chance, call and ask, so general there is never any problem with that. It also helps if you get into a bad situation, or if you have any other problems. I had to make 999 calls on my visits during my time and a mobile that has helped me no end (do not worry – there has been the difficulty for all dogs or people, I had to call ambulances to various types of incidents. For example, once detected a fire in an abandoned house) .. Get good relations with the people around you. Always be worth it, especially at Christmas, or need favors for whatever reason (no longer toilet are a big one at my age!). They also look out for you and understand your situation more if you are on good terms. I've made enough friends on my visits – one of whom I really only met when he wanted to complain! When someone has a complaint, remain calm and polite, answer all your questions, suggest ways to fix things, or refer to the line, apologize if I made a genuine error. No matter how disgusting they are being. Most do not know what it actually involves work, and thinks that only deliver a few houses a day. The most common complaint is that you are late (including at 10 am). Politely explain why it can not be there at 8 am every day, or why it takes a different route to the other, or what you're accused of. Most people do not realize that the mail comes later, for now, replacing the two deliveries a day on one, and made all the rounds bigger – and carry out we do not really make that decision. If they get aggressive, verbally or physically, that he will not talk with them if they are well on foot, and tell your supervisor if you feel the need. Other things to do in your lap: Something to drink. Its very popular in the summer months, when you're a light in the midday sun. Something to eat. Not I'm talking about a lunch together, but once again its good to keep an emergency kitkat in your bag! money, in case you forget all the above. A pen for obvious reasons, but having a few spare parts. Take a few pieces of paper, take note of the things that might help later. Usually, things you want enter log on foot, but I've always forgotten by the time I get back, if not write. That's all I can think of for now, but if you have questions or want some further advice, please contact. I think it can be sent by email through Yahoo if you click my name to the left of this post.
