City Girl
City Girl
Do you think that a city girl will have trouble moving south?

I am a 26 year old mother of two children. I grew up in Los Angelas California for the first 7 years of my life and then moved to Portland, Oregon, where I have been around ever since. This summer my husband and I want to go to Charleston, SC South, a place we've never been. He's from Morehead City North Carolina and have visted there many times I have always loved the politness of the people and the beaches, but I am a person I'm shy and worried about being able to make friends and how people react to me and my children are mixed race.

Each move requires an adjustment. I am of Charleston. It is a beautiful city full of wonderful people – of course I am a little biased, since it's my hometown. As elsewhere, some parts of Charleston are better than others. Talk to your real estate agent and be very upfront about what you are looking for in a community. As for friends, so much depends on your interests, but that is true, no matter where you live. I thought the comment about the south is slower, "is funny. I moved to Washington DC seven years ago. All takes more time here than is in Charleston. Why? Traffic. No mater what you choose to do, good luck to you!
