What is the best dog care and training book that I can get?

I am not in favor of a single book. The simple reason is because no person who knows everything. Use your local library, there is no reason you need to buy all those available. But it is in your best interest to read, even those who disagree with, because prior research contempt leads only to eternal ignorance. If you are in the videos and are looking for a good to get a puppy to start, I like "Sound Beginnings" by Jackie Mertens. But understand that it is geared to launch a retriever field trial.
