Ball Medium

why is that a spherical metal ball moving in a viscous medium in a long tube attains terminal velocity?
When a body falls in a fluid medium, in a place where there is gravity, three forces are acting on it. Weight, pushing down; buoyancy pushing up, and drag do to friction opposing the motion.
When the sum of the three forces add up to zero, the body will quit accelerating, and maintain a constant speed.
