Adapter Dog

How do I fix a portable charger?
Ok, so a couple of months my dog bit my laptop cord in half, She bit the hand that plug into the wall and the AC adapter. I stripped the black out of the cover of the cable was chewed. Here's a photo of what appears: http://i40.tinypic.com/10y109l.jpg PLEASE helpdir:
The safest thing would be to replace the cable, if not the adapter. Most of the time the end that plugs into the wall is removable. Yours looks to land, so you probably need for what is colloquially named a 'mickey mouse' string, usually around $ 20 for 6-ft. It look like this: http://gizmobyte.com/product-images/Accessories/Cables/pwr% 20cable-mickey-l.jpg If the wire is part of the AC adapter or you're too cheap to buy a replacement (not the best route to take), you want some shrink and a welder. Turn down the heat around each of the bare wires at one end, and make sure they are enough to completely cover the exposed conductor. You also want to put a third piece of shrink around the entire cord. Keep the Shrink way back from the soldiers until the two ends of the rope together, then pull the shrink-on joints, reduce with a hairdryer, do the same third heat-shrink over it all, and that's it. If you use shrink or not (use of duct tape, if not), it is necessary to solder wires back together. Tape does not hold, then pulling them apart risks and arches, possibly starting a fire. Also make sure you have the correct polarity that do not end with the disposal problems in the AC circuit.
